I run Challenging mostly. In my experience no. I've been farming Summit daily for 2+ weeks for the Memento and I still don't have one. In my opinion freeroam is the best place to farm exotics. Every activity after completing it can drop a exotic. The activities are very quick to complete thus giving you a lot of drop chances per hour.

I suspect each of them only drops with specific criteria, but what that is I am not sure. I mostly do strongholds in hard/challenging.

For one thing, you only need to pick up all the confirmed kills when you're first building your stacks. Once you have full stacks, you only need to refresh. I did it mainly with countdown (challenging) targeted loot backpack. You will see a lot of acostas bullsh*t backpacks. Every 2 matches you have enough countdown points to buy a exotic cache.
