I've had my GE portable dehumidifier for about 4 years now and when I fired it up this summer the unit still runs but isn't collecting any water. The collection bin is bone dry every time I check, even though I can hear the fan inside running. In past summers, I would have to empty out the bin several times a day during the summer.
