Remove all the belts but one in the center. Cut a piece of belt from one of the old belts about 20 to 24" long and laced on each end. Install this short piece of belt in the one remaining belt in the baler. Open the tailgate until the pin can be removed from under the takeup arm. Lower the tailgate all the way.
This clutch does not emit any noise when slipping. If it is ony the main clutch slipping then there probably are no plates left in the clutch. Raise the front shield and take a look. The only other slip clutch is on the sledge roll drive on the right side of the baler. This clutch will not emit noise either.New Holland 640. Save. Discovered the rollers on the back of the tail gate are in slots. Used those slots to adjust belt travel and now love my baler again.

If you look at yours you will probably find that the edges are rounded off. Those are what grabs the hay and gets it rolling. Also helps to feed it faster when starting the bale.
