Hello everyone, I am Cornelis Ribbers, I am new here. I have a mercury bigfoot 60 HP, 2007 and it have lift and tilt problems. It goes up whitout a problem but it will not go down the whole way. Float adjustment is for sealing off the fuel supply at low rpms. I have a 2001 60 HP 4 stroke 4 cylinder that is carbureted. On the water hose it runs fine idle on through close to 6K rpm, put it gear on the hose runs fine idle to almost 6K. At the lake idles fine, in 5mph zone its fine, after 3K rpm it bogs and wants to stall. If I take it out of gear and use the high idle lever it will rev and idle just fine.

Aug 12, 2016. #5. I have been experiencing the exact same issue. Well, I just figured it out and now it steers real easy. There is a screw on the starboard side of the pivot housing. Back that screw out about 1/4 turn and see if that's it. That's a ease of steering adjustment, I guess. I hope that solves your problem.

A check of the owners manual should point out that this is an overheat alarm and that just because the water pump is working does not mean the engine is cooling properly. A thermostat that is stuck shut will cause an overheat at idle. A bypass valve stuck shut will cause overheat at higher rpm.
