The 2.4Ghz wifi band just stops working, all the devices get disconnected and the router stops emitting in that frequency. The 5Ghz band keeps working just fine though. Only the CR1000a has the 6ghz (wifi 6e) option. The g3100 has wifi 6. Wifi 6 uses the 5ghz frequencies. If you've disabled SON in the advanced wifi settings it lets rename your WiFi SSIDs to unique names, otherwise every frequency will share the same SSID, that is the default behavior.
