Real good idea to have a bore gauge if shopping used. An original full choke 12 gauge a dime will not pass through the muzzle. Many older full guns have been opened up. The dime is a quick and dirty check. Don't ignore older O/U guns, the Charles Daly guns by Miroku are excellent, no parts around, but darned unlikely it will break.I've seen Miroku Superiors offered for $800 and I've seen them offered for $1,800.
