Armor is a big factor in damage reduction, so corrosive is very usefull, especially as most of the 'tough' enemies have armor. in addition, fire is now a decent DoT and armor degrader, and that initial 'set on fire' animation acts like a small stun.

Corrosive is still good for non-status weapons because of its damage multiplier against ferrite armor, and in the Cambion Drift because a lot of those enemies are immune to viral status. Even within different factions the weapon itself is maybe more important. Different weapons may want to focus on different elements.

Unless you have like a 3 CP squad (becuz with 4, no armor hence no bonus) or your warframe can strip armor (again, partial strip, not complete strip), then radiation is better. With corrosive, the status chance is doing the armor stripping. Therefore, it doesn't require external armor strip (CP, ability), so it is generally good for any sitation.
