I personally believe the 716I is the best rifle you can buy for the money in the AR-308/AR-10 Battle Rifle category. I think the 716I can perform alongside its older sibling, the 716 G1 & G2 Piston guns probably to the surprise of many. The 716I may also be able to potentially shoot more accurately than the 716 due to it build type.

I was looking for the 716i but the shop ran out of them. Some guy had sold the 716G2 to the shop right before I got there so he could get a SCAR17. Lucky for me the dealer cut me a deal and I got the 716G2 instead of the 716i. I probably would have enjoyed the 716i just as much, but this gave me a reason to try a short stroke piston rifle. The SFAR, especially this 16.1″ barreled version, balances well in the hand. The muzzle stops and starts quickly and breaking the trigger on target then getting back on target is no real challenge, especially considering the chambering. It’s a .308 autoloader that’s easy to shoot and extremely easy to carry.
