12 votes, 24 comments. true. cows by far is the best place to get gems. the mob density per cow session is way more than any normal area mob density. that said chaos is good and so is clearing the path to it. quite a few years ago I found ohm/vex/sur in chaos sanc. and on the way to it one time I found CoA 2x sock was like 28res but w/e. was still a great drop.
Best place to farm is at the archer an ivycultist, with ivybow and store bought arrows, just have to have highest attack speed and 50+ ranged skill.
