Got home pulled it out and noticed something fishy.As the 930 has the same recoil system issues as the 930, including the sharp spring burr that eats away at the plunger, we have produced a version of our captured tail plunger specific to the 940. The sharp spring burr was found to be present on ALL 3 of the 940 JM PRO series guns we got in for prototyping and evaluation.

I have a 930 and I think the 940 added some of the OR3GUN parts to address the issues with the 930. I have a 930 jm pro tactical series. It works well with all loads. After about 100ish rounds of break in, it has run flawlessly. It does get incredibly dirty very quickly around the gas system. Im a fan.

I have zero experience with the M940 semi shotgun. I do have 2 M930 series shotguns and I have disassembled them extensively. Reading your post I'm not entirely clear on your issue. Greater cleaning intervals aren’t all that separates the 940 from the 930. Additionally, the Mossberg 940 Pro buttstock can be adjusted for cast, drop, and length of pull. This is accomplished via included spacers and shims to alter drop and cast. The same goes for adjusting the modular buttpad for length of pull (LOP) from 13″ to 14.25″.
