Also I'd like to mention I have the original litter robot 3 that didn't come with connect. But I did install that a year later. I had issues when I first got mine and I thought it was the dfi sensor but just ended up I had to take out the "key" that's in the back and I think there was a cover that was unnecessary too on the inside.
I can still switch the Litter Robot on and off via the app but I can't do anything else. I changed the old DFI sensor in April 2020 to the newer version because the old IR one stopped working. The new sensor came as part of the Connect upgrade kit which I purchased.
