The full screen dimming is really bad with the LG but bearly noticeable with the G8. The problem with the G8 is if you use DisplayPort and let the monitor naturally enter sleep mode, there is a high likely hood of crashing your pc. Both of these monitors are extremely flawed in one way or another and I really hate paying over 1.5k for compromises.
