You can also open the bleeder screw -- to let any air out. It is a black PLASTIC screw next to the primer pump. Be caredul tightening it back up --it can break.

Hi Guys, I have a 2001 2500HD Duramax that has been surging like its a governor problem. But the codes P0181 & P0090 keep coming up, so it makes sense that it's the fuel temp. sensor.P2138. DTCs P0652, P0653, P0698, P0699, P2122, P2123, P2127, or P2128 are not set. The ignition is ON. DTC P2138 runs continuously when the above conditions are met. Conditions for Setting the DTC. P2122. The ECM detects that the APP sensor 1 voltage is less than 0.8 volt for greater than 0.2 second. P2123.This is also something that is not very common on these Duramax engines but it happens more often than an ECM issue. The most common problem on the Duramax is the EGR. That and head gasket issues. As far as electrical issues, this is really the only other one I know of.
