Viral + heat is good vs almost everything, but corrosive and radiation have their uses as well. It's best to bring a primary and secondary combo to deal with multiple threats. If you like charging attacks you should try the scindo or fragor (not much point owning both gram and scindo though). Yeeeeah, the Heat Sword/Heat Dagger/Dual Heat Swords had Heat damage added to their slam attacks and finishers all the way back in Update 11.3. For some reason they've never had innate Heat damage as a part of their regular melee strikes. And Ember is not immune to fire, Frost to ice, etc...
