It seems that the functionality of the infotainment system is severely limited without it. For instance , I have to use Android Auto on my phone for navigation. I was going down the road and noticed the gauges had quit working except spedometer and tach. Then I noticed windows, door locks and radio quit working. Maybe try just disconnecting the positive battery cable and short it to ground for about 10 minutes. As far as I know there is no way to open it up and change out the lights. My dash lights have been progressively getting dimmer during the day to the point I cannot read my odometer. I have change the dimmer control light switch which did not help. (Unless when I bought a new one it was bad as well !!!) During the night the dimmer works fine. I can brighten the lights and dim them with the control knob.

Well typically its related to that dash sensor not working correctly...im not a fan of throwing $ at something without diagnosis.... Maybe call gm an get a p/n for it and see what it cost at one of the online gm supply houses and if its only a few bucks, swap it and see.

THis is probably best to rule out a break in the speaker wiring between the radio and speaker. Find an old speaker of most any type that you know works and hook it in to see if it works. If not, then you know it is not the speaker, it is the wiring or the radio itself.
