Seems like some games "default" voice setting doesnt seem to recognise the mic. Make sure to set the same voice imput everywhere. If you have multiple sources and your mic works (for example) with discord, look up the device which discord uses. Then set it as your default device in both windows sound settings AND change it in Steam voice settings.
