The Dam. The original Boysen Dam was built in 1908 by Asmus Boysen, hence the name. Part of it can still be seen next to the tunnels entering the Wind River Canyon. He also built a 710 kW power plant, but that went out of business in 1923 after a flood filled it with silt. The existing Dam was built in 1951 and the area became a state park in 1956.North Muddy Campground provides easy access to both Boysen Reservoir and Lake Cameahwait (aka Bass Lake).
