I have a 2017 Ram Laramie 5.7 8 spd. At just 1200 miles I got a warning to service shifter so it is in the shop now waiting for parts. Just a few days prior to this it shifted into park by itself as the rollers started pulling me thru the wash causing thee circuit breakers in the wash to blow.

Explained that I am receiving an intermittent "service shifter" error message and when that happens I cant get the shifter out of park. They "verified customer concern" and determined that I need a new electronic shift control module.

The software fix included in a recent RECALL added the door open to prohibit starting. My problems began after that "FIx". Check with the dealer for 2 possible fixes 1.
